2020 Show Season Cancelled

In light of all the recent fair cancellations and the continuing uncertainty as to if and when any restrictions on gatherings and sports may be lifted, the executive has voted in favor of cancelling the remainder of the 2020 season. For those of you who paid membership fees at the AGM, those will be carried over to 2021. We were holding out hoping things would change but it just doesn't make a lot of sense for us to keep waiting.   From all of us on the executive, we wish you a safe, happy and healthy summer. Watch for announcements regarding AGM date for January 2021.

Important Notes

  • Parking in the show grounds is for trucks & trailers only. The only cars allowed are those with permission from the executive committee. All cars are to park on the road leaving room around the driveways for truck and trailer access.

  • Please clean up after your horses at the show-grounds, this includes scooping poop and not leaving flakes of hay

  • No one is to ride their horse outside of the rings ? this includes Lead-liners.

  • Children are to be supervised by a parent or adult when riding in the warm-up ring and MUST be wearing a helmet.

  • Horses are to be under the control of a handler at all times while on the grounds. The grounds are not fenced from the road, and the safety of our four-legged friends is paramount.

  • Please remember that your number is assigned to the horse.  On the entry sheet, please specify which rider will be showing the horse in which class. In order to keep our points system accurate and as efficient as possible, we ask that you assign ONE number to each horse. For example if the horse is #345 in May, the same number would be used for the rest of the year, and if Jim, Joe and Sally are all showing the same horse, they would all use #345

  • WHAO rules also require that the number be worn either a) on the rider's back, or b) on BOTH sides of the saddle pad.

  • All entries for showmanship and halter classes must be made at the entry booth NO LATER THAN 9:45am on the morning of the show. This gives our show secretary enough time to print the judge's cards, and keeps our show running on time.

These rules are for everyone's safety, and thank you for making our job easier! .
                                                    Thank you, DLSC executive
